The Learning Assistant is an AI tool that can help learners get answers to questions based on content their administrators curate from within the LMS.

Feature Overview and Requirements

The Learning Assistant is an AI-driven chatbot that let’s you ask questions about learning content in your training portal to the extent that it was included for review by your portal administrator. The content it will review is only tied to resources and courses within your organization’s training portal and only those specifically included by your training team.

The Learning Assistant will not look for content outside of the training portal nor will it find information that wasn’t included in “training” the AI chatbot.

If you ask questions and don’t get an answer, it could be that the content was not included in the Learning Assistant knowledge base. It could also be that you used a word or abbreviation that was not part of the content. 

If you don’t get the expected content, try synonyms of the words you used or try common abbreviations to see if it helps find content. 

Step by Step Procedure and Field Description

To ask a question about something in your portal’s courses or resources:

  1. From the Navigation menu, select Learning Assistant. If it is not shown, your portal administrator has not made it available to your organization.
  1. In the Ask a Question space at the bottom, enter your question.
  2. Click Enter. The Learning Assistant will process the request and either return an answer from the content your portal administrator included, or it will indicate that it was unable to find that information.
  1. You can ask a new question or continue to refine your question, if you wish, trying other ways of phrasing or spelling, including using full words instead of abbreviations or vice versa. Each time, click Enter to have the Learning Assistant reprocess the question.
  2. To clear the Learning Assistant chat and start fresh, you can refresh your browser.

Sometimes the content will not be there regardless of any variations you attempt. Contact your organization’s training portal administrator if you have questions.
