When you create an ad-hoc or rule-based goal, just because a user appears in the user preview of the goal wizard doesn’t mean they WILL get the assignment. There are many factors that can cause this. Here are the common ones:
- The definition of the target user population may have included people who are ineligible for the goal:
- Ineligible Business Unit (Catalog)
- Ineligible due to audience restrictions on the course
- Ineligible due to mismatches between the user’s location brands and course/accreditation brands
- For Accreditation goals specifically:
- The user may not belong to the position groups that are eligible for the Accreditation. Their eligibility is designated by the Primary Position on their Primary Profile. If they have a relevant position but it is on their secondary profiles, it will not assign them the goal.
- The user may have the correct brands for the Accreditation, but they may not be associated with their Primary Profile. There is a setting on the Accreditation which allows the assignment to be made with consideration to secondary brands. It is a checkbox Include Brands from User’s Non-Primary Locations.
